God wants to use you.

God wants to use me.

Say whaaa?

Yes. He wants to use everyone for His story.

He is the movie director/producer plus the main actor and He wants to use us as extras in the movie to make it a multi-million dollar movie. We won’t see this finished movie til He comes back and we go to Heaven, but it will be the best movie ever released. And you are in it. Yes, you’re an extra, but that is a big deal in God’s movie.

You may be thinking, “I’m not good enough for God to use me. I have no talents. I am a dirty, rotten sinner. I fail myself everyday.”

But God does not care about your background, well, He cares about you, but He looks past your history and sees His child whom He loves and wants to use. All it takes is for you to say “God, use me.”

Do you truly believe that God can use anyone, or are you struggling to believe that?

Here, take a look at Romans 16. Now, if you’re like me, you probably saw that its just a bunch of names and did not really read it. I normally do that, but recently I read this chapter all the way and my eyes were opened. his is a chapter of Paul’s gratitude for the people in his life. In this chapter you can see that God is using people to minister and impact Paul, which in turn glorifies Christ. Everyone matters, and Paul wants us to see that. Allow me to break it down for you:

  • Verse 3 mentions Prisca and Aquila. What did these people (who sound like Hunger Games characters) do that deserves recognition? This couple risked their lives for Paul. According to Acts 18:26, they were a married couple who taught the way of God more accurately.
  • Verse 5 mentions the first convert to Christ in the province of Asia, Epenetus.
  • Verse 6 mentions Mary, who was a hard worker.
  • Verse 7 mentions Andronicus and Junias, who were related to Paul and were imprisoned for their faith.
  • Verse 8 mentions Ampliatus simply because Paul loves him and wants him to be recognized.
  • Verse 9 mentions Urbanus, who was a worker in Christ.
  • Verse 10 mentions Apelles, who was tested and approved in Christ.
  • Verse 11 mentions those in the household of Narcissus, referring to the slaves who are in the Lord.
  • Verse 12 mentions Tryphena and Tryphosa, whom worked hard in the Lord. Not only did they work hard, but they were women! Back then, not many women were recognized for their work, so the fact that these two and Mary (verse 6) were mentioned shows that women can make an impact just as much as men. Ladies, don’t give up!
  • Verse 13 mentions Rufus, who was chosen in the Lord.

Now, there are plenty more in this chapter that I did not mention, and you can go back at look at them. These may be names you have never heard of and skip over, but Paul included them because they are important. Every individual in this list meant something to Paul and the work of God. God used all of these people who are different. He used men and women, long-time believers and new believers, hard workers and relatives. Like all of these people, God wants to use you.

How can God use you? Well, first you need to realize that you don’t have much to offer Him. He doesn’t need anything but He wants you and He wants to use you.

You need to love and trust Him.

When you love and trust Jesus, its not hard to ask Him to use you.

Ask God to use you.

Here are some bullet points from a Campus Church sermon  by Clayton King title Used;

  • God uses unlikely people.
  • God uses those that are close enough to listen.- Be close to hear Him speak. You get out of life what you put into life. You have got to CHOOSE.
  • God uses willing vessels.- You don’t die, you are sowing seed and growing fruit when He uses you.
  • God uses broken things.- Sometimes people don’t see Jesus in us until we are broken and depend on Jesus.
  • God uses a little bit.- He has access to everything. If you are faithful with a little bit now when you have little, you will be faithful then when you have a lot.

God wants to use you. Will you let Him?
